Abstract
Under the structure-directing effect of a metal complex formed in situ, supertetrahedral [ZnGe3S6(H2O)(S3)1/2]^1clusters alternate with tetrahedral Zn(H2O)(S3)1/2^1- units to form a two-dimensional wide bandgap semiconductor that shows photocatalytic activity for H2 production from aqueous solution.
