Effects of Natural Zeolite Application under Foliar Spraying with Humic Acid on Yield and Yield Components of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)

ABSTRACT: In order to study effects of zeolite application and foliar spraying of humic acid on yield and yield components of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), an experiment during farming year 2011, in Lahijan township (north of Iran), was conducted. The experiment was conducted in factorial format based on randomized complete block design with three replications. Factors of experiment were consisting of zeolite application with three levels (Z1: control (without zeolite application), Z2: 4 and Z3: 8 ton/ha) and humic acid foliar spraying with three levels (H1: control (without foliar spraying with humic acid), H2: 30, H3: 60 mg/liter). Measured traits were include fruit yield, number of fruits per plant, fruit length and plant height. Results of experiment showed that the effect of zeolite application and also humic acid foliar spraying on all traits was significant at 1% probability level. But interaction effect only showed significant differences on fruit yield at 1% probability level. Among zeolite application levels, 8 ton/ha zeolite application and between humic acid foliar spraying levels, 60 mg/liter spraying were superior.
