Protein Sequence Alignment: A Review

Protein sequence alignment is one of the crucial tasks of computational biology which forms the basis of many other tasks like protein structure prediction, protein function prediction and phylogenetic analysis. Although the protein alignment problem has been studied for several decades, many recent studies have demonstrated considerable progress in improving the accuracy or scalability of multiple and pair-wise alignment tools. In this paper different techniques for protein sequence alignment have been discussed, compared and concluded.
