WATER QUALITY ANALYSIS ON MUSSEL FARMS (Mytilus galloprovincialis) IN THE BOKA KOTORSKA BAY, MONTENEGRO

This paper presents microbiological analysis data, nutrient composition, and qualitative and quantitative data on phytoplankton on mussel farms (Mytilus galloprovincialis) in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. The study began in July 2010, with sampling been carried out twice a month. From October 2010 until January 2011, sampling was carried out on a monthly basis in 10 private farms in the bays of Kotor, Tivat and Risan. Microbiological parameters examined were total coliforms, faecal coliforms, Escherichia coli and faecal streptococci. Nutrient analysis was performed using the same dynamics as microbiological analysis. The composition of the phytoplankton was studied in relation to seasonal dynamics.
