Abstract
The plasma behaviour in Filippov type plasma focus devices has been studied by using the simulations based on
the ML-model. The effects of the current efficiency factor fi, mass shedding factor fm, gas pressure P and dis-
charge voltage Vdis, on the quarter discharge period t1/4, maximum discharge current Imax and pinch time tp, have
been investigated and discussed. This investigation showed that fi, fm, P, and Vdis, can have large effects on tp, t1/4,
and Imax values. Among others, it was shown that while higher fm values lead to higher tp, t1/4, and Imax values,
higher fi values lead to lower tp, t1/4, and Imax values, and that the increment of Vdis leads to the decrement of tp ,
and t1/4, but an almost linear increment of the Imax values.
