Evaluation of seed vigor and field emergence of sweet corn seeds

The sweet corn is one of the crops which is produced significantly in recent years and a lot of money is spent for its importing to the country. Therefore for comparison of vigor and field emergence of sweet corn seeds with different germination percent; an experiment was conducted as completely randomized blocks design in three replications in seed and plant certification and registration institute, Karaj, Iran. The treatments were 4 levels of germination percent (levels of 75%, 80%, 85% and 90%). The measured traits were the radicle emergence percent, seedling dry weight, shoot and radicle length and the seedling emergence percent in field. The analysis of variance results showed there was a significant difference in all measured traits among 4 treatments.
