Abstract
LetKbe an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, endowed with a complete nonarchimedean norm. LetXbe aK-rigid analytic variety and Σ a semianalytic subset ofX. Then the closure of Σ inXwith respect to the canonical topology is again semianalytic. The proof uses embedded resolution of singularities.
