The controversy about assisted suicide continues to divide the United States and the professions. This article discusses the moral arguments surrounding practitioner-assisted suicide, the nursesʹ role in end-of-life care for persons who may or may not choose assisted suicide, and suggests professional alternatives to assisted suicide.
