Abstract
The detrimental environmental effects of the eastern German U mines resulted in a close down of all the mines. With a depth of nearly 1800 m, the Niederschlema/Alberoda mine was the first one to be flooded. Statistical investigations and thermodynamic calculations with WATEQ4F revealed that the mine waterʹs constituents reached a local maximum.
