  • Abstract
    A simple, rapid, inexpensive method for qualitative estimation of fecal coliforms (FC) in water and wastewaters is presented. The estimation of FC by the dip slide technique (DST) gives results within 8 h. The DST is compared with the conventional membrane filter (MF) procedure. The efficacy of the proposed technique is evaluated by statistical analysis.
