Characters of permutation summands Original Research Article

A permutation lattice for a finite group G over the ring A of integers in a number field is a free A-module with a finite A-basis which is permuted by G; direct summands of these, as AG-modules, are called permutation summands for G over A. The virtual characters are studied for these lattices through an induction theorem on virtual characters over the maximal unramified extension field of the rational p-adic numbers.
