An algebraic formula for the Euler characteristic of some semi-algebraic sets Original Research Article

In this paper, we express the Euler characteristic of a semi-algebraic set which is an intersection of a nonsingular variety (given as a complete intersection of a system of equations) with a polynomial inequality in terms of the signatures of appropriate bilinear forms.
