Nurses who walk in balance: Returning to the self

Balance is central to our social language. We have a trade balance and a balance of power, events hang in the balance, and accounts are left with a balance. In an increasingly unbalanced world of extremes, however, writing about balance may seem impossible, much more the balance of living personally and professionally as nurses. Is it even worth striving for balance in the face of the stresses we deal with every day?
