On the nonsingularity of matrices with certain sign patterns Original Research Article

A new nonsingularity criterion for an n × n real matrix A based on sign distribution and some conditions on the elements is given. This work was motivated by the solution of Poissonʹs equation for doubly connected regions. We consider a matrix A arising in the above application to demonstrate the theory.
