A note on limit points for algebraic connectivity

We consider the limit points for algebraic connectivity—i.e., those real numbers r such that r is the limit of a sequence of distinct numbers, each of which is the algebraic connectivity of some graph. We prove that each nonnegative real number is a limit point for algebraic connectivity, and characterize the limit points for algebraic connectivity of trees.
