Abstract
ABSTRACT: In order to evaluate the Allelopathic effects of Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum) extract and essence of chlorophyll content of Abutilon (Abutilon theopharasti), Goosefoot (Chenopodium album) and Centaury (Centaurea depressa) was conducted an experiment in completely randomized design with three replicates In vitro condition in the physiology laboratory of Islamic Azad University of Gaza. The treatments were consisting four concentrations of Sweet basil water extract [0 (control), 25, 50 and 100 gL-1] and three concentrations of Sweet basil shoot essence (0, 50 and 100%). Results showed that chlorophyll content of Abutilon and Centaury decreased by using of extract different concentration of Sweet basil. No significant difference observed between various concentrations of Sweet basil extract in relation to the chlorophyll content of Goosefoot. Chlorophyll content of Abutilon and Centaury significantly reduced by enhancement of Sweet basil essence concentration. There was no significant difference between essence 50 and 100% and control treatment in relation to the chlorophyll content of Goosefoot.
