A new method for obtaining a more effective estimation of atmospheric temperature in the contiguous United States Original Research Article

In the study of climate change, temperature is one of the most important variables, along with greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide. Due to the increased attention given to the subject of climate change, the need for accurate, unbiased temperature records is of paramount importance. The purpose of the present study is to propose a new method of obtaining a better representation of atmospheric temperature in the contiguous United States. We evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method and compare the results with a commonly used method. It is shown that the proposed method is more effective and appropriate for estimating the average annual temperature of the contiguous United States.
