Abstract
A new 2D map is proposed for visualising global behaviour of 1D cellular automata image sequences. Two statistical quantities are proposed to measure the variations between the current and the next 1D cellular automata images for a given function. This provides a framework for visualising global dynamic behaviour of cellular automata image sequences in 2D maps. Typical complex dynamical behaviour such as fixed points, limited cycles, convergent and chaotic behaviour of 1D cellular automata image sequences and their maps are illustrated. Differences between this new map and continuous 2D maps are discussed.
