Abstract
We consider a new model for invasion in which the mechanism is also dependent on the fluidʹs filling of neighboring pores. During the invasion process, it is assumed that the resistance of a pore for invasion may be weakened depending on the fluids’ configurations of its nearest-neighbor pores. In case of nontrapping, the cluster generated by the present correlated invasion percolation is connected to the critical percolated cluster of the site-bond-correlated percolation model. A surprising result emerging from our calculations consist of a double-plateau structure observed in the acceptance profile for the invader cluster. The discussion about the origin of the profiles allows us to relate the occurrence of a second plateau to the strength of correlation.
