A few comments on brick-wall model and the entropy of a scalar field in Schwarzschild black hole background Original Research Article

In this brief communication we will consider the entropy of a scalar field in Schwarzschild black hole background using the brick-wall model of ʹt Hooft. We will show that a proper counting of states lead to an expression for the entropy of the scalar field which is different from the standard expression and is not proportional to the area of the horizon.
