Abstract
This paper investigates the computational shakedown analysis of an elastic-plastic body subjected to a set of loads varying within a given domain. Using an ellipsoid yield surface, an iteration algorithm based on a kinematic formulation is proposed to approach the shakedown load. The convergence of the algorithm is guaranteed. This algorithm can be applied to shakedown problems with strainhardening and certain geometric effects. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the validity of the present method.
