An improved domain decomposition method for the 3D Helmholtz equation Original Research Article

The efficiency of a non-overlapping domain decomposition method is strictly related to the transmission operator acting at the interfaces between subdomains. A new operator, arising from the non-reflecting boundary conditions theory, and a new iteration scheme lead to a dramatic improvement of the performances of the scheme which was originally proposed by Bruno Després and which is recalled in the first part of this paper. The convergence of the new method is proved and some numerical results show the comparison of the performances.
