Abstract
Anexperimentalinvestigationwasconductedtostudythetwo-phaseflowdistributioninahorizontalheaderwithtwoinletturretsand30(sixbanksoffive)outletbranches.Testswereperformedusingair–watermixturesatroomtemperatureandanominalheaderpressureof170.3kPa.Thetestmatrixincludedone-andtwo-turretinjection,twoinletwaterflowratesandfourdifferentairflowratesforeachwaterflowrate,givingfourdifferentinletqualities.Theoutletflowratesofairandwaterweremeasuredinallthebranchesundertheconditionofequalpressuredropacrossallbranches.Thedatashowthatthereissignificantvariationinairandwaterflowratesamongthebranches,bothintheaxialandcircumferentialdirections.Theflowdistributionamongthebrancheswasfoundtobestronglydependentontheinletflowratesofairandwater,andthetypeofinjection(oneortwoturrets).
