Abstract
Inthiswork,aprobabilisticneuralnetwork(PNN)thathasbeenappliedwelltotheclassificationproblemsisusedinordertoidentifythebreaklocationsoflossofcoolantaccidents(LOCA)suchashot-leg,cold-legandsteamgeneratortubes.Also,afuzzyneuralnetwork(FNN)isdesignedtoestimatethebreaksize.TheinputstoPNNandFNNaretime-integratedvaluesobtainedbyintegratingmeasurementsignalsduringashorttimeintervalafterreactorscram.Anautomaticstructureconstructorforthefuzzyneuralnetworkautomaticallyselectstheinputvariablesfromthetime-integratedvaluesofmanymeasuredsignals,andoptimizesthenumberofrulesanditsrelatedparameters.ItisverifiedthattheproposedalgorithmidentifiesverywellthebreaklocationsofLOCAsandalso,estimatetheirbreaksizeaccurately.
