Abstract
TheHighTemperatureEngineeringTestReactor(HTTR)isa30MW(thermal)heliumgas-cooledreactorwithacorecomposedofprismaticgraphiteblockspiledoncorebottomstructure.ThecorebottomstructureoftheHTTRconsistsofanarrangementofgraphitecomponents.CoreseismicdesignisoneofthemajorconcernsinthesafetyevaluationoftheHTTR.Thus,acomprehensiveresearchanddevelopmentprogramwasundertakenatJapanAtomicEnergyResearchInstitutetodevelopameanstoanalyzetheblock-typegas-cooledreactorcoreforseismicdesign.Basedontheprogram,thevibrationcharacteristicsoftheHTTRcoreandcorebottomstructureswereclarifiedquantitatively,andthestructuralintegrityofthegraphitecomponentsoftheHTTRwasconfirmed.
