  • Abstract
    VALMOX,anacronymforvalidationofnucleardataforhighburn-upMOXfuels,isoneoftheprojectsoftheclusterevolutionaryfuelconcepts:highburn-upandMOXfuels(EVOL).Itcovers30months,fromOctober2001toMarch2004. ItconsiderstheevaluationoftheactinideinventoryofMOXfuelathighburn-up(typically60GWd/t)inlightwaterreactors,withspecialattentiontotheheliumproduction.Calculatedvaluesforthespentfuelisotopicmassesarecomparedtothemeasuredones,withsensitivityanalysesmadeinsupport.TheJEF2.2nucleardatafileistakenasabasisforcalculation.TheresultingrecommendationsonnucleardatashouldbeemployedinthepreparationandtestingofthenextJEFF3file. Sofar,themajoreffortwasplacedontheevaluationofMOXfuelirradiationsinpressurisedwaterreactors,andfirstresultswillbepresentedandcompared.
