Abstract
Theeffectsofaneutronirradiationonthemagneticparametersofareactorpressurevessel(RPV)steelwithdifferentmicrostructures,partiallyduetoadifferenceinthesteelrefiningprocesseswereinvestigated.Thesampleswereirradiatedinaresearchreactorwithafluenceof4.5×1019n/cm2at288°C.ThemeasurementoftheBarkhausennoise(BN)wasconductedtoexploretherelationshipbetweenthemicrostructuralstateandthedomainwallmotion.TheBNprofilesoftheunirradiatedsamplesshowedaconsistentchangewiththemicrostructure(grainsize,carbidemorphology,lathwidth),buttheneutron-irradiatedsampledidnotshowaconsistentchangewithmicrostructuralstate.TheradiationhardeningandrecoverycharacteristicshavebeeninvestigatedbyusingtheVickershardnessmethod,andtherelationshipbetweentheBNandthemicrohardnessisobtainedforfourdifferentsteels.Thelinearrelationshipbetweenmechanicalandmagneticpropertiescanbeusedasanondestructiveevaluationforradiationdamage.
