Abstract
Daubechies’waveletexpansionisintroducedtodiscretizetheangularvariablesoftheneutrontransportequationwhentheneutronangularfluxvariesveryacutelywiththeangulardirections.Animprovementismadebycouplingone-dimensionalwaveletexpansionanddiscreteordinatemethodtomaketwo-dimensionalangulardiscretizationefficientandstable.Theangulardomainisdividedintoseveralsubdomainsfortreatingthevacuumboundaryconditionexactlyintheunstructuredgeometry.Asetofwaveletequationscoupledwitheachotherisobtainedineachsubdomain.Aniterativemethodisutilizedtodecouplethewaveletmoments.Thenumericalresultsofseveralbenchmarkproblemsdemonstratethatthewaveletexpansionmethodcanprovidemoreaccurateresultsbylower-orderexpansionthanotherangulardiscretizationmethods.
