  • Abstract
    Thepaperdemonstratestheeffectofanexternalexplosionontheouterreinforcedconcreteshellofatypicalnuclearcontainmentstructure.Theanalysishasbeenmadeusingappropriatenon-linearmaterialmodelstilltheultimatestages.Thegenerationandthepropagationofblastwaveanditseffectonacylindricalstructurearediscussed.Parametricstudieshavealsobeenperformedforsurfacedetonationsofdifferentamountofblastchargesatadistanceof100mfromanuclearcontainmentshell.Criticaldistanceshavebeenevaluatedfordifferentamountofblastchargesfornuclearcontainmentshell.
