Approximating vertical vector fields for feedforward neural networks Original Research Article

In this paper, we investigate the problem of approximating a vertical vector field for a given nonlinear mapping. Our primary interest lies with artificial neural networks of feedforward type, although the method could easily be applied to other nonlinear mappings. We calculate a Lie group approximation of the vertical vector field.
