Basin boundaries with fractal and smooth accumulation properties in systems with single potential well

In this paper we examine basin boundaries with smooth and fractal accumulation properties. We focus on the phenomenon of indeterminate bifurcations in hardening systems, in other words those exhibiting a single potential well. This happens when the saddle-node is located on a highly intertwined basin boundary, resulting in a dynamic jump whose outcome is indeterminate.
