Desynchronization and chaotification of nonlinear dynamical systems

We present an extension of the Chen and Lai anticontrol of chaos method [Int. J. Bifurc. Chaos 8 (1998) 1585] to the case of synchronized stable maps. With a technique used in active control theory we realize a chaotification of two identical one-dimensional maps, which were first synchronized in the nonchaotic domain of parameters. We describe analytically this mechanism and then a numerical study is presented.
