Benthonic Foraminiferal Assemblages, Microfacies Analysis And Sedimentary Model Of Ziarat Formation, Someah –E- Pain Area (Central Iran Province, NW Iran)

ABSTRACT: Ziarat Formation in western north of Iran and in Central Iran Province and under zone of Alborz-Azerbaijan includes large benthic foraminifera . Based on paleontological studies and investigation of fossil accumulations ,especially large benthic foraminifera , these deposits have age of Late Paleocene to Middle Eocene . Depositional analysis shows that this succession includes microfacies of inner ramp and middle ramp and there is no facies of outer ramp . Taken fauna and no presence of reef –maker creatures and no presence of signs for slump and turbidity , show that environment to deposit succession of Ziarat Formation relates to hemoclinal ramp .
