Abstract
We study the problem of Bose-Einstein condensation in a general homogeneous magnetic field in a space of any dimension D. Previous work which concluded that condensation was possible if D ⩾ 5 is shown to be an artifact of the special choice made for the magnetic field. For a general magnetic field Bose-Einstein condensation never occurs for any dimension.
