Limits on νμ oscillations from the measurement of the ratio of 0μ to 1μ events at the CERN narrow band neutrino beam

The high precision measurements of the ratio of 0μ to 1μ events in νμ N interactions, performed in 1986 by the CDHS and CHARM Collaborations, are used to set limits on neutrino oscillations. The present analysis, an update of a study published in 1988, excludes in the high Δm2 region (Δm2 > 100 eV2) νμ−νe oscillations with sin2 2θμe > 3 × 10−3 and νμ−ντ oscillations with sin2 2θμτ > 6 × 10−3.
