Effect of Different concentrations (NPK)onGrowth andFlowering of carnation (Dianthus caryophllus)

ABSTRACT:To Study different Levels nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on growth and flowering of (Dianthus caryophllus) flower an experiment was conducted in completely randomized design in eight replication and fourtreatmentatAgricultural Technical Institute of Bakrajo-Sulaymaniah Polytechnic University-Kurdistan-Iraq, during growing season of 2011-2012, to study the influence of different concentrations (0.0,0.5,0.7,1 gm/plant) of soil fertilizer nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus contains (5%N, 30%P2O5, 0%k2O) on the growth and flowering of (Dianthus caryophllus)The soil fertilizer was applied 3 times during the growing period. Analyses of variance showed that the effect of NPK was significant on plant height, number of branch, number of leaves, stem diameter, number of flowers, flowers diameter, of Dianthus caryophllus. Correlation analysis showed number of branch had the highest positive and significant correlation with flowers diameter (0.641) followed by number of branch and stem diameter (0.574).
