Abstract
Parallel iterative algorithms combining a time discretization and domain decomposition methods are applied to solution of a singularly perturbed parabolic problem. The domain decomposition methods are based on the Schwarz alternating procedure and time extrapolation. Convergence results for the iterative algorithms are established. Numerical experiments are presented to compare the effectiveness of the iterative algorithms on a shared memory multiprocessor
