Model generation for simulation analysis: An application to timber harvesting

A methodology for automatic model or scenario generation is described. A computer-based system for model generation in timber harvesting is developed. The system matches the userʹs needs to a level of mechanization that would maximize the efficiency of the production operation. The system accomplishes this by searching a set of databases containing information on available technology and its impact on production efficiency and economics, environment and safety. Individual machines are balanced together to obtain a viable productive unit.
