Abstract
This article considers the problem of optimal allocation of the financial budget to a software project under development. There exists several models focused on the development of software costs measuring the amount of development effort, development time and the number of software errors remaining in the software during testing. The purpose of this paper is to use these models to formulate the optimization problems which software managers face and to propose a simple and fast solution procedures to handle them. The presented approach extends previous works either by assuming that a software project consists of some independent modules or by defining new goal functions.
