Abstract
The productionplanningofregionalsmall-scalesoftdrinkplantscanbemodeledbymixedinteger
models thatintegratelotsizingandschedulingdecisionsandconsidersequence-dependentsetuptimes
and costs.Theseplantsproducesoftdrinksindifferentflavorsandsizesandtheyhavetypicallyonly
one productionline.Theproductionprocessiscarriedoutbasicallyintwomainstages:liquidprepara-
tion (stageI)andbottling(stageII).However,sincetheproductionbottleneckoftheseplantsisoften
in stageII,inthisstudywerepresenttheproblemasaone-stageone-machinelot-schedulingmodel
that considersstageIIasthebottleneckbutalsotakesintoaccountacapacityconstraintofstageI.To
solve theproblem,weproposerelaxandfixheuristicsexploringthemodelstructureandweevaluate
their computationalperformancessolvingdifferentprobleminstancesbasedonrealdataofaBrazilian
small-scale softdrinkcompany.Thesolutionsobtainedarecomparedtothecompanysolutionsandthe
solutions ofageneral-purposeoptimizationsoftware.
