Abstract
To modeluncertaintiesinaproblemonecanprovideintervalsofuncertaintyspecifyingarangeforeach
uncertain parametervalue.Tohedgeagainst`worst-casescenariosʹ,i.e.,mostunwelcomerealizationsof
the uncertainparametersafterasolutionhasbeendetermined,the minmax-regret criterion hasbeen
adopted inrobustoptimization.Withinthisfield,weconsiderbottleneckproblemswithoneormore
uncertain parameterfunctions.
We applyaknownpolynomialtimesolutionschemeforanumberofspecificproblemsofthistypewith
one uncertainparameterfunction.Thisleadstoimprovedalgorithmsofreducedcomplexity,e.g.,forthe
bottleneck Steinertreeproblemandthebottleneckassignmentproblem.
Further, weformulateaframeworktosolvesinglemachineschedulingproblemsinpolynomialtime
under themaximumtardinesscriterion,withuptothreeuncertainparameterfunctions.
