Existence, uniqueness, and homogenization of the second order slip Reynolds equation

The decreasing of the distance between the head and the magnetic disk surface leads to a model of the behaviour of the air by using a modified Reynolds equation. The existence and the uniqueness of this stationary equation is, under some conditions on the data, proved using both fixed point and monotonicity techniques. Double-scale analysis allows us to obtain the associated homogenized equation.  2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved
