Moore–Penrose inverses and commuting elements of C∗-algebras

Let a be an element of a C∗-algebra A satisfying aa† = a†a, where a† is the Moore– Penrose inverse of a and let b ∈ A. We study several spectral properties concerning the commutativity of a and b. We deduce some new and old results concerning EP matrices.
