Some Remarks on Common Fixed Point Theorems

In this paper we prove a fixed common point theorem for the pair of mappings satisfying both the Banach contraction principle and Caristi′s condition in a complete metric space. We also investigate the class of compatible mappings and establish some fixed point theorems for these mappings on the Meir-Keeler condition.
