  • Abstract
    ThearticlepresentsanoverviewoftheissuesforensuringsafeoperationoftheRussiannuclearpowerplantswithRBMK-1000reactors. TheoperatingdataforsuchNPPsareincluded,theupgradingactivitiesaredescribed.Theexamplesofthemajorimplementedactivitiesandtheircontributiontosafetyenhancementaregiven. TheactivitiesaimedatthejustificationofsafeoperationofNPPwithRMBK-1000reactorsaredescribedandsomeresultsareprovided. ThebasicconclusionisthattodayitcanbeclaimedwithgoodreasonthatoperationofthenuclearpowerplantswithRBMKreactorsisassafeasoperationofNPPwithdomesticandforeignreactorsofothertypes.
