  • Abstract
    Sonoluminescenceandsonofusionphenomenamayoccurwhenvaporbubblesimplode.Thispaperreviewsthestatusofourunderstandingofthebubbledynamicsinvolvedintheseinterestingphenomena.Inparticular,theexperimentalandanalyticalevidencesupportingtheobservedproductionofneutronsandtritiumduetothermonuclearfusionwithinimplodingbubbleclustersisreviewedanddiscussedfromtheperspectiveofnuclearengineers.Moreover,prospectsforscaling-uptheneutronyieldandsomepossibleapplicationsofthisexcitingnewtechnologyarediscussed.
