The Tweed fisheries: An historical perspective

The article draws on the archives of the River Tweed Commissioners, as preserved in the Borders and Berwick-upon-Tweed Record Offices, in reconstructing the preoccupations and aspirations of those individuals and bodies whose often conflicting activities over the last 200 years have influenced the productivity of what is perhaps Scotlandʹs most famous salmon river.
