Abstract
From the results of investigations of 90Sr transfer in birch and pine forests lying on the radioactive trail formed in the Eastern Urals after a nuclear accident in 1957, a model for cycling of this radionuclide has been designed for forest biogeocenoses. The forest stands have been presented as an eight-compartment system including the major vegetation components of the surface mass. The intensity of 90Sr transfer for various compartments has been calculated. The half-clearance and half-accumulation coefficients of 90Sr have been calculated; predictive calculations of 90Sr transfer for a 50-year period have also been carried out.
