Abstract
The poisoning mechanism of a View the MathML source catalyst by SOx at low temperature has been investigated. The catalysts tested in this paper were prepared with different ion-exchange loadings and conditions in order to produce catalysts with different Cu site compositions. The states of Cu in fresh and poisoned View the MathML source catalysts, especially stable Cu2+ were analyzed using XPS after a long X-ray irradiation. These data together with the activity test results suggested that Cu+ adsorbs SO2 and changes to stable Cu2+ in the presence of O2, and thus loses its activity.
