Abstract
In this study, the corrosion inhibition of austenitic chromium–nickel steel in an acidic medium containing various
concentrations of crotyl alcohol was investigated with potentiodynamic current–potential curves from 298–343 K. For the
same inhibitor concentration, a rise in temperature causes a positive shift in the corrosion potentials and an increase in the
corrosion rates. The values of the activation energy Ea. determined here indicate that the inhibiting effect increases with
inhibitor concentration. It is shown that adsorption is inconsistent with the Temkin isotherm. q1999 Published by Elsevier
